Definitions

Drawn from CGIAR and MEL resources and adapted to our context

Monitoring

Refers to the process of tracking data that inform the progress of the Initiative towards the achievements of targets and outcomes, measured by established indicators.

Evaluation

Uses the systematic data collection and analysis of information about the characteristics and outcomes of the Initiative. The evaluation includes an analysis of the results obtained from the monitoring of the Initiative indicators as well as qualitative information provided by stakeholders (Leadership team, Country and work package teams, partners) via surveys, workshops, or interviews. We evaluate performances by work packages, countries, and we consider evaluations from our partners about the quality, and effectiveness of the partnership.

Learning

Refers to a process through which the evaluation findings are reflected upon beyond the Initiative context to address broader opportunities and challenges at the individual, team, organizational and network level.
